Instructor Bio:
Stefanie Bodison, MA, OTR/L has taught extensively within the United States (USA) and internationally on sensory integration and the feeding & eating challenges of children. She is currently an Adjunct Clinical Instructor within the University of Southern California Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy (USC) and coordinator of OT610, the 4-month clinical training program in Sensory Integration Theory and Practice offered by USC at Paediatric Therapy Network in Torrance, California. Stefanie has been specializing in sensory integration and neurodevelopmental treatment techniques with children for over 17 years and specializes in meeting the daily living challenges of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning disabilities, SI dysfunction, and neuromotor issues. She is currently completing her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy and is co-author of a parent friendly booklet on feeding titled Sensory Integration: Answers for Mealtime Success.

Course Description:
Guiding Clinicians to Help Kids Eat is a 2-day course designed to assist clinicians in developing the skills needed to accurately assess the feeding issues of the young child and design intervention programs targeted at improving mealtime success. Through lectures, video analysis and case discussions, participants will gain confidence and learn specific approaches that can be used immediately in everyday practice.

At the completion of this course, participants should be able to:
Identify the typical and atypical patterns of oral motor and feeding development of the young child. List the important questions to ask when developing the child's occupational profile through the caregiver interview. Define the critical observations needed to accurately assess the child's oral motor and feeding skills. Describe an intervention plan targeted at improving a child's oral motor and feeding abilities.

Venue:
The course will take place in Advance Therapy Systems premises at Brewery Business Park, Ardee Road, Dundalk

Course Fee:
Early Bird: €300 (registration should be received and completed by March 5, 2010)
Regular Rate: €340 (registration should be received not later than March 31, 2010)
Cancellation Fee: Should you, or your group cancel your place following registration, a €125 fee will be applied for administrative costs. No exception will be made.
